Principal's Corner

Mrs. Megan Driggers- Principal

The importance of education has been a reoccurring theme throughout my life and has guided me to my current career path.  As a student involved in multiple sports and extra-curricular activities I found myself more often at Kinston High School than at home; this trend continued at Troy University where I devoted myself not only to academics but also to various Greek and university organizations. Due to these experiences, I have developed a love of learning and a belief in the life-altering power of education.

After spending time as a teacher and instructional coach at two previous schools, I am excited to return "home" to serve my alma mater as principal. It is my honor to work at a school whose dedication to the success of its students is a common goal shared among both the school staff and the community.  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading (preferably on the beach), and supporting the Kinston Bulldogs. Go Dawgs!

Serving as your principal...

"What you are to be, you are now becoming."  When I consider serving as principal of Kinston High School, my alma mater, I cannot help but laugh a little and acknowledge that I am living proof that our school motto speaks truth.

When I was a senior at Kinston High School, I "made a deal" with my principal, Mr. Coale, to swap parking spaces. Little did I know that, in what seems like only a few short years later,  I would be parking in that same spot as the principal of Kinston School.

As a student involved in multiple sports and extracurricular activities, I found myself more often at Kinston School than I did at home. Now as the principal, I again find myself in the same situation. However, this time it's not my student journey that is unfolding, but it is your journey.  It is truly my fortunate honor to serve my "home," my alma mater, and play a small part in your journey to becoming who you are meant to be.
